General Policy

We ship Monday-Thursday with UPS from Georgia depending on your location.

Live Crickets tend to die in a warehouse if they sit over the weekend. All guaranteed shipments will be released to shipping only if the package can avoid the weekend wait.  If your shipment is damaged in transit, do not refuse the shipment!  Please accept the shipment and call us to make other arrangements.

Shipping to an Apartment

UPS will deliver your package to an Apartment.  However, they will not leave the package at the front door of an Apartment if you are not there.  If you make an order and have shipped to an Apartment, it is your responsibility to be home when UPS makes their delivery.  If you cannot be home, have the shipment sent to your place of employment or to a friend's house.

We will not guarantee shipments where UPS makes an attempt to deliver to an Apartment and no one is home.

Shipping to a PO Box

Only the Post Office can ship to a PO Box.  Since we don't use the Post Office as a shipper, we cannot ship to PO Boxes. It is your responsibility to put in the correct shipping address.  We need a physical address. 

If you put in an incorrect address and we ship, UPS will try to find the correct address and make the correction.  They change us $10.00 for the service.  That $10.00 will be charged back to you - so please make sure you put in your correct address!

If the delivery is delayed due to you putting in the wrong address, the guarantee is void.

 

Crickets & Worms

It's our policy to make sure you receive live healthy crickets and worms.  When the weather is in a normal temperature range (40 to 90 degrees), shipping is no problem.  Outside of that range, we have to take extra measures. Your crickets and worms are shipped in a cardboard container and are packed with plenty of food to keep them happy and healthy.

Our box is designed to keep your crickets healthy for up to 3 days in transit.  All of the shipping options that you see displayed at check out are for methods that are 3 days or less.  We count the day that we pack and ship your crickets as one day.

Live Delivery Guarantee

All crickets and worms are guaranteed with the exception of the 110 Crickets and any Cricket Specials that we occasionally run on the website when you follow these guidelines:

  • Choose Winter Packaging if temperatures are below 50 and above 30.
  • No ordering of crickets if your transit night time temperatures are below 30 degrees (if you order, we will ship with no guarantee)
  • Selection of "Next Day Air" Shipping service (or Standard Shipping in GA, SC, Al)  if you order 1/8" or pinhead crickets

We only guarantee worms that are ordered 500 or above using an air service.  If you order a smaller amount and they arrive dead, we will add worms to your next order to compensate for your loss.

Worms are much more heat sensitive that crickets.  If your temperatures go above 90 degrees, to get the live delivery guarantee, you must choose a one day shipping method. (Ground for Georgia, Alabama, and South Carolina - Overnight shipping for all other states)

We do not offer money back guarantees once an order is placed.

$4.95 Order Reprocessing Fee

In the event you receive a dead box of crickets.  We charge a $4.95 fee to reprocess and reship your order.  On average, we only have to reship .5% of all our orders.

Hot Weather Shipping

If your temperature is above 95 degrees, we will hold the shipment. You can still get your crickets and worms, but you'll have to forgo the guarantee.  Please contact our shipping department at 234 PET-FOOD and we will release your order.

Worms are much more heat sensitive that crickets.  If your temperatures go above 90 degrees, to get the live delivery guarantee, you must choose a one day shipping method. (Ground for Georgia, Alabama, and South Carolina - Overnight shipping for all other states)

Cold Weather Shipping Option

Crickets are warm weather creatures.  If the temperature is too cold they will die.  During cold weather spells, we add extra packaging to your cricket shipment.  The cost of the cold weather packaging is $1.50 per box for the packaging. During the ordering process you'll have the opportunity to select the Cold Weather Package option.

If the temperature at your location is 50 degrees or lower, you must order the Winter Pack for each thousand crickets ordered in order to receive the "Guarantee Live Deliver".

If the transit temperature in your area is 30 degrees or below, please wait to order your crickets if you want the guarantee.  We will ship crickets to those areas, but the guarantee is void.

If you order the Winter Pack and your crickets appear dead, take them to a warm area and let them heat up for around an hour.  Often times you will find them to come back to life.

We'll do everything in our power to make sure you receive clean, fresh, live, and healthy crickets!

Normal Weather Shipping

When the temperature is above 50 degrees and below 90 degrees, we rarely have any problems with shipping.  In the rare event that your crickets do arrive all dead call us at (234) PET-FOOD and we'll immediately make another shipment of crickets to your location.  If part of your live delivery arrives dead, we will compensate by adding free live products to your next order.

UPS as the shipper

We have been using UPS for some time now with relatively good success.   Sometimes they also tend to put the box at the front door without ringing the doorbell.  We put bright neon stickers on the front of each box instructing the delivery person to ring doorbell and knock on door.

If your shipment is delayed for any reason after we shipped the package, your best bet is to contact UPS directly and provide them your tracking number.


Buck Lure and Cover Scents

The Buck Lure and Cover Scents products are not heat or cold sensitive.  You can choose any shipping method to get your product to you.  We do not offer any guarantee or money back offer with these products as they delivered 'as-is'. 

If the package is destroyed by the shipper we will file a claim and have a reshipment made to you.

Bearded Dragons

Overnight shipping is required for all live reptiles.  When a Reptile spends more than one day in a box in transit it causes too much stress.  Overnight shipping is also a requirement of our shipping company for all Reptiles that we ship out.

Guarantee

We do offer a Live Delivery Guarantee for our Bearded Dragons.  The package must be signed for and received on time.

In the unlikely event that your reptile does show up dead, we ask that you contact us within 24 hours and email pictures to us so we can file a claim and arrange for a reshipment.

Replacements

We do offer a Health Guarantee for our Bearded Dragons for 10 days.  Please contact us with any health concerns prior to the end of the 10 days.

Based on your situation, we may elect to have you ship the reptile back to us, or send out a new reptile right away.

Please do not introduce your reptile to any other reptile for 10 days, as it could potentially compromise the health of your Bearded Dragon through the introduction of bacteria and viruses.

Reptile Cages

All cages will be shipped via UPS Ground Service.  The dimensional weight is too large to accommodate the air service.  Depending on where you live, ground service may take from 1 to 5 days in transit.

In the event the cage is damaged in shipping, please contact us so we can file a claim and make arrangements for the reship.  Please accept the shipment and do not discard the content as UPS may elect to do a visual inspection prior to approving the claim.

All Bearded Dragon cages are custom made.  We ask that you allow us 1 to 2 weeks to prepare your cage prior to shipping.
